ABOUT
Andrew Harper is a sound designer, mixer, and consultant for theatre, opera, and ballet. Andrew is currently the sound designer for Houston’s Theatre Under the Stars, having designed over fifty musicals with them since 2013, Additionally, he has designed sound for productions with Houston Grand Opera (including five world premieres), Washington National Opera/Kennedy Center, New York City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Lyric Opera Kansas City, Atlanta Opera, San Antonio Opera, El Paso Opera, and Houston Ballet, among others. In summer 2021, he designed the outdoor sound system and all six productions on it for the Glimmerglass on the Grass Festival in New York, including The Magic Flute, Songbird, Il Trovatore, and The Passion of Mary Cardwell Dawson. In early 2020, he was preparing the designs for the world premiere ballet Pretty Things for Trey McIntyre/Houston Ballet, Pure Country for Theatre Under the Stars, and Francesca Zambello's West Side Story for Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Italy before the global pandemic forced productions to pause. He is excited to be a part of live arts returning and thrilled to be working with fellow artists again!
